The Martin Luther King High School (King) robotics team is prepping their robots to secure first place in the upcoming competition. They will go up against competing schools, such as the Conquistabots from Chino and Eagle Robotics Club from Redlands, fighting for their school and showcasing their engineering skills. “We practice three days a week, and students work on their robot and make any changes they need to [for preparation.]” explains robotics advisor and teacher, Mr. Martin. His most important advice for the robotics members is “if you worry about the other teams and other robots, your own robot will suffer.” Robotics members attending the competition are confident in their robots, as well as their robot’s ability to dominate the competing teams. Daniel Baca, 11, who is in his third year of competitions, recalls, “I feel really strong with my team and I’m looking forward to beating the other robots at the competition. Come check out the King Robotics Team this Saturday, 6:30 am to 5:00 pm in the Gym and MPR for week three of the Inland Empire Robotics League Competition.
